[edit] Founding Members
The American Secret Police are the spin-off band of fellow hardcore punk band The PU's. A.S.P consists of former Pu's singer Mika Stevens, and roadie Michael Kent. The original band name was The Ratts. The band next recruited Nicky Brown of The Pu's as their drummer. Next they recruited Jesse Martain, who brought a street punk edge to the band. After an intresting first band covering American Hardcore songs, they created their own original material, which they performed at two later gigs, including a local punk festival.

Mika Stevens quit the band due to family problems, so Jesse has taken up bass duties, and Michael has picked up Guitar. The band is currently practicing their material in preperation for an upcoming EP

The members of the band have a wide array of influences, but mainly consists of 80s Hardcore Punk Bands. Some of their influences are Minor Threat, Black Flag, Gang Green, Rage Against The Machine, Anti-Flag, Bad Brains, DRI, Dead Kennedys, and various others.
