[edit] Origins

Frontline Radio is a joint venture between four people: Chemosabe, Jick, Mook, and Mick. Originally conceived as a means to attract more kids to punk, after becoming increasingly frustrated with the more "mainstream" focus of other punk radio stations such as Fungus 53, the goal of the station also became promoting more under-appreciated bands and record labels.

[edit] The Radio Station

Frontline Radio broadcasts 24/7, with no commercial breaks. PC, Mac, and Linux users can listen to the station on a wide variety of music players including ITunes, Windows Media Player, and Real Player. Although the format of the station is generally random, Frontline Radio runs at least one hourly feature including featured bands, new releases, and seasonal music.

[edit] The Website and Discussion Forums

The Frontline Radio website is split into two sections: the main site and the discussion forums. The main website consists of staff updates, featured bands, reviews of new releases, and contact and support information. New CD reviews are generally posted on a monthly basis, with each member of the staff contributing. The discussion forums serve as the gathering point for the staff and fans. Along with general discussion of punk and non-punk related topics, the forums also serve as a posting board for any upcoming concerts or music releases. The forum members also attempt to organize transportation to and from any posted concert, and arrange gatherings at larger events.
