"We have no interest in the dull...we want to riot...we want gigs to get crazy...we want the audience all over the stage...we want sweat,..we want sex...we want rock 'n' roll revolution...we want soul power...we want it all...we want an army of rock n roll bands..."

…So spat Brother John Robb of Goldblade back in 1995. The former front man of The Membranes put together a band of punk rock brothers capable of keeping up with his non-stop energised pace, of whoever can believe in the sheer brutal commitment of this joyous rabble rousing. Robb now believes he has the best Blade line up yet.

Robb has maintained his one man punk rock crusade over the years, in 2006 he was all over UK TV flying the punk rock flag and also released his critically acclaimed best selling book of the punk rock years, 'punk rock- an oral history'.

Goldblade have released four albums, 'Home Turf', 'Drop The Bomb', 'Do You Believe In The Power Of Rock n Roll', and 'Rebel Songs'.

The current 'Rebel Song's album is their best selling yet, released by Captain Oi! in the UK, SOS records in the USA and KB-Records in Germany its Goldblade's most international album and has resulted in the band playing all over the world from the stadiums of Russia to all over the USA and Europe.

Another great collection of anthemic punk rock songs it captures the band at their adrenalised peak of their form, their live shows are legendary, no band can match Goldblade for their onstage energy.

Still scorched by punk rock’s fierce polemic, still in thrall to classic rock n roll, still in love with punk rock, Goldblade are riven with energy, ideas and action. They play a series of great sing-along anthems fired by the incendiary guitar and the witty lyric the band have a fierce reputation on the worldwide live circuit.

Goldblade were pretty much on their own when they kick-started their rock action in the mid nineties. The circuit was clogged with the fag end of the indie scene, and rock was dead. Goldblade ripped the UK apart with a non-stop tour...300 gigs in two years building up a rep as an awesome live band and freak the minds of the crowds everywhere. They have played gigs with Rancid, The Stranglers, The Offspring, John Spencer, Fugazi, Crass Collective, The Damned, Dead Kennedys and The Meteors as well as countless headline shows of their own. They have played all the major festivals across Europe. They have hit the top 75 four times, with ‘Strictly Hardcore’ being their biggest hit single to date.

Their live show is legendary. A no holds barred explosion of energy, frenetic showmanship and athletic non stop action.

‘Gold Blade pack more energy into their live show than any band I have ever seen’ the NME.

Their kinetic wild live show has grabbed them loads of brilliant reviews and the band's rallying call interviews have inspired the formation of many bands.

In 2007 Gold Blade are still talking a fine battle. In the past five years since their mid-nineties explosion there have been several bands who have come along and tried to squeeze themselves into Goldblade's beautifully designed and worn-with-pride big shoes... there have been plenty of bands who have sought the frenetic explosive live crown, and there have been plenty of bands who have spat the sloganeering rock 'n' roll salvo...but never mind, Goldblade are here to show the way!

They have played both the Glastonbury Festival and the Holidays In The Sun punk festival in Blackpool - festival billing that shows how broad their audience is. They are booked onto loads more punk festivals and they are setting up a world tour. John Robb's TV series on the history of punk ‘The Punk Years’ is in the process of getting shown all over the world and the band's multi-media punk rock blitz looks set to go into full throttle.

For many people Goldblade carry the torch for everything that was brilliant about punk rock - the energy, the politics and the style, their sheer musicianship and fierce professionalism means that they update the form bang into the nu millennium.
