Site Policies
From Punkopedia - The Punk, Hardcore, and Indie Encyclopedia
In the true spirit of punk, we would like to make this site completly free and open to anyone who would like to make a positive contibution. We have no rules defining bands, genres, ect. Even if a band has had just one practice, feel free to give them an entry. However, in order to protect the work of people who take this page seriously, we ahve to maintain some guidelines:
Vandalism: The community that makes up this site will not tolorate vandalism of pages. If you want to vandalize something, go spraypaint hXc on the side of your dad's car. He is the reason you are mad at the world, not the people who contribute to this site.
Accuracy: We not ask you to cite sources. Lets be honest, what sources would you cite to prove that Spirit Assembly opened for the Bouncing Souls and Lifetime at the "Punk Prom" in Lititz, PA in 1995? However, we do ask that you make every effort to be accurate. Do not lie, and if you are not sure of something, don't leave it out, but be clear that you are not sure of the fact.
Images: Please keep the size of uploaded images to a minimum while still preserving quality. Server space and bandwicth cost money that our dirt-asses don't have.
Copywritted Work: Do not plagerize work or upload copywritted media. We don't want you to get sued by Metallica. Also, anything you write is available to the punkopedia community under the GNU public liscense.
Promotion This site is meant to be a reference, not a means to shamefully promote your band. Feel free to wrtie about yourself, but do so in a historical, objective fashion. If you want to promote you band, add a link to your website or myspace page.
Advertisments We show advertisments in order to pay for hosting, domains, and maintance. We are not a company and we have built this site for our love of punk rock.
