Originally conceived as a arts collective by founder Chadd Beverlin, The Earthworm opened on June 16, 2007. Shortly thereafter, it was transformed into an underground live music venue and unjuried art gallery run by a staff of volunteers who work collectively.

Formed in June 2007 to fight the growing corporatization of the Highland Square neighborhood, The Earthworm has already hosted dozens of bands and events and is available for bookings. website
